Meet charming characters

Toan

Toan is the main protagonist of Dark Cloud. He is the wielder of a blue Atlamillia, and the warrior chosen by the Fairy King. Despite his inexperience, Toan seems to have an affinity for sword fighting, having quick footwork and decent ability to dodge attacks in duels, but was still outclassed in a duel against the more experienced Seda.

Xiao

She is the first ally who joins Toan on his journey. She initially appears as a stray cat in the Divine Beast Cave in Norune Village. In her cat form, Xiao is very nervous around Toan and flees from him soon after he spots her, though she develops an interest in him as their paths continue to cross. In her humanoid form, she becomes rather attached to Toan, calling him "Master" affectionately and seizing him by the waist to give him a hug after he accepts her as his first ally. She promises to help Toan with his adventure and becomes a reliable partner throughout the game.

Goro

Goro is a short, overweight young man dressed in a bearskin. He wields large hammers and axes, displaying a surprising strength for his small stature. He is somewhat aggressive, and comes across as morose, mostly due to the disappearance of his father.

Ruby

Ruby was a genie once, but her mischievousness landed her in a magic lamp. She is found by King of Queens and brought to his palace. Things don't work out, so King gives Toan the lamp. Ruby is well aware of how gorgeous she is, and has no qualms about using either her stunning appearance or her magical powers to manipulate and take advantage of the people she meets. Depicted as a natural troublemaker, she often teases people and is very possessive. As hinted in the game, she is in possession of a mysterious, deadly temper. She is also somewhat snooty and spoiled, as when Jack gives her a ring as a weapon, she comments that it is somewhat plain despite its stated rarity, much to Toan's surprise.

Ungaga

Ungaga is a proud warrior, shamed after his perceived failure to protect Mikara and the village. His pride as a warrior is everything to him, and he is fiercely loyal to those around him. He is popular with the ladies in his village, since they consider him as a strong, handsome man who is greatly admired by the villagers.

Osmond

Osmond is a witty yet serious Luna-Lab worker, his main interests and assignments being creating robotic parts for machines. In Dark Cloud, it is mentioned that he loses his temper when he doesn't get his way, and that he is quite ruthless and ambitious.

Weapons and Gameplay

Weapons in Dark Cloud can evolve depending on how you build it's stats by synthesising itens.
But be careful to not break then when fighting enemies, as they will dissapear if it happens!

Each character can equip different weapons, creating varied playstyles for each. Experiment and find you favorite!
